Kahukiwi Experiences – Terms And Conditions

Your relationship with us is subject to these general terms and conditions.

You should read this important document carefully. By participating in a tour with us, you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions.

In these terms we have used “we” and “us” to refer to Kahukiwi Management Limited (trading as Kahukiwi Experiences), “you” to refer to our customer and “tour” to refer to all tours and experiences provided by us to you.

These terms and conditions, and our relationship with you, is governed exclusively by the Laws of New Zealand, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.


Bookings are essential.

Tours occur at set times and are subject to availability. Your tour time will be confirmed to us at the time of booking.

Your admission fee must be paid in full to confirm your booking and tour time.

All of our tickets are single entry tickets and are valid for the confirmed tour time only.

Admission tickets are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and void if altered in any way.

An adult must accompany all children under the age of 15 years.


You must check in at least 15 minutes prior to your confirmed tour time. Failure to do so may result in you missing the tour and forfeiting your admission fee.


All pricing is displayed and charged in New Zealand dollars and includes relevant taxes.

We reserve the right to alter published prices at any time.

Child prices apply to children aged 6-15 years inclusive for all tours

From time to time, we may offer specials and discounts. Such offers are not valid in conjunction with any other offer and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Payment Using the Online Facility

If you are paying by credit card using our e-Commerce online facility, by purchasing and booking a tour online, the card holder agrees to the terms and conditions when submitting the order/payment.

Cancellation and Changes

You may cancel or change the time of your booking by notifying us at least 24 hours prior to your confirmed tour time. If you notify us within this time, you will receive a full refund of your admission fee.

Cancellations or changes to bookings within 24 hours of your confirmed tour time may result in a cancellation fee of 25% of the total admission fee.

Changes to bookings, including adding products or extra people, are subject to availability and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your requests.

If you fail to arrive for your tour, we will be unable to refund any of your admission fee.

We accept no responsibility for any loss or additional expenses that arise because of a cancellation or change to your booking.

For all cancellations or changes to your booking, contact us.

We reserve the right to cancel or change any tour due to weather conditions, hazard identification and events beyond our control that may interfere with your tour. If we have to cancel your booking, we will offer you an alternative tour time or a full refund.

For Your Safety

Here at Kahukiwi Experiences the health and safety of our visitors is our first priority. Here are a few things to adhere to and watch out for along the way:

Safety briefing

Your tour will be led by one of our guides who will transport you to and from the tour in one of our vehicles. Prior to every tour your guide will read a safety briefing, which explains the following key points:

  • Your guide will show you how to correctly fasten your seatbelt and adjust your seatbelt if necessary.
  • If you have an epi-pen, or any other medication please let your guide know. Your guide will keep your medication in the glovebox of the vehicle.
  • If you do not speak or understand English, please let us know. If possible, we will arrange for a translator to be present for your tour.
  • Your guide will have a mobile phone for use in an emergency. The mobile phone will be located in the glovebox or pocket of the vehicle, or as otherwise advised by your guide.
  • A laminated Emergency Card is kept in the glovebox of the vehicle with clear instructions for Emergency Response 111 calls, along with our company name and location.
  • In an emergency, follow the procedure on the Emergency Card and your guide’s instructions, then remain in the place you have stopped and wait for help to arrive.

Your obligations

You must disclose any medical conditions or disabilities to us prior to taking part in your tour.

Please ensure minors are watched at all times. We encourage you to hold the hand of young children.

Please keep to all paths/tracks – please DO NOT wander off the paths/tracks.

Please adhere to all warnings and signage.

You acknowledge that participating in one of our tours involves a degree of risk and you assume all risks associated with participation. You also release us from all claims, losses or liabilities for death, personal injury, property damage/loss, medical costs or economic loss that may arise out of your participation in the tour.

We take all practicable steps to manage the hazards of your tour, however please follow our instructions at all times and comply with our Health and Safety procedures. Parents, please ensure that your children do the same.

If you fail to follow our instructions and Health and Safety procedures, we cannot accept any responsibility for your safety. In addition, we reserve the right to immediately remove you from your tour if we consider there is a risk to your personal safety or the safety of others.

If you require first aid, emergency or other medical treatment during your tour, you consent to receiving such treatment.

The information you provide to us at the time of purchase will be used to send you the confirmation of your ticket purchase.

You have the right to access and request correction of any personal information held by Kahukiwi Experiences.

Photos & Videos

During your tour, we make take recordings and/or photos. You agree, unless otherwise advised to us, to us using any recording and/or images of you for promotional purposes without reward.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without notification. Your booking will be subject to the terms and conditions that applied at the time you made your booking.
